EKITI STATE POLICE COMMAND CELEBRATES THE BABY OF THE YEAR; PRESENTS GIFT.

The Ekiti State Police Medical Services today being 01/01/2022 presented a gift item to the first baby delivered in 2022 at the Police Hospital, Okesha, Ado-Ekiti.

The occasion, which was graced by the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP TUNDE MOBAYO, had some Medical Consultants and Professionals such as the Coordinating Consultant of the Hospital, Dr Olofinbiyi Babatunde, Dr Babatunde Adeniyi, amongst others including the Ekiti State Police OC Medical, CSP(Dr) Famewo Ukeh in attendance.

In his speech, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP TUNDE MOBAYO, thanked God for the safe delivery and arrival of the baby and prayed God grants the parents the wisdom and ability to train up the child in the best way that he should go.

The Commissioner also appreciated the Officer in-charge of the Hospital, CSP(DR) FAMEWO UKEH and her Medical Staff for their cooperation and unified effort which has led to the rapid growth and transformation being witnessed today in the Hospital.

Baby of the year

Delivering a speech, the Coordinating Consultant of the Hospital, DR OLOFINBIYI BABATUNDE appreciated the Commissioner of Police and the OC Medical, Ekiti State Police Command for giving him the privilege and honour to serve the Hospital in the capacity of the Coordinating Consultant as well as creating a conducive working environment for him and his team.

According to him, the Hospital has experienced the highest level of development in the last one year under the leadership of CSP(DR) FAMEWO UKEH as they have been able to establish a highly functioning surgical, obstetric and gynaecological units.
He noted that the Hospital has in the last one year carried out some major surgeries such as exploratory laparotomy with bowel resection and anastomosis; major orthopaedic surgeries like open reduction and internal fixation; maxillofacial surgeries, urological surgeries like prostatectomy and urethroplasty, Caesarean operations of varying degrees, myomectomy, hysterectomy, eye operations, amongst others.

Furthermore, DR OLOFINBIYI BABATUNDE revealed that Ekiti State Police Hospital has proposed to establish a Gender-Based Violence Unit in collaboration with a Non-governmental Organisation in Ekiti State; this he noted will be the first of its kind in Nigeria.

In his goodwill message, the father of the new born baby, MR OMOLAYO BELLO, on behalf of the family, appreciated the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police for his presence and kindness. He also thanked the OC Medical and her medical team for their efforts and experience, and prayed God gives them divine wisdom to continue piloting the affairs of the distinguished Hospital.

The highlights of the event were the presentation of a gift to the baby by the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP TUNDE MOBAYO and the declaration of a one year 50% medical discount for the baby by the OC medical, CSP(Dr) FAMEWO UKEH.
