The Child Shields Foundation is poised to fight prevailing hunger within the slums of Oriade LCDA. This project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) of the United Nations.

The Non Governmental Organization gets the nod of
Hon. George Adegeye Olawande, the esteemed Representative for Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, to put together a “Food Drive in Oriade”. This is aimed at fighting the prevailing hunger and food insecurity within the slums in Oriade LCDA. The event is slated to hold as indicated below;

Date: Tuesday 20th February, 2024

Time: 2:00 pm

Location: Ade Oshodi Street, Satellite Town

According to the Foundation’s Projects Director, Princewill Enyinnaya Ibegbu, he said this is not our first attempt at putting together such a laudable initiative. We have had Food Drive initiatives held in different parts of Lagos, such as Oyingbo, Oshodi, Ojuelegba, Abule Egba.

The Food Drive seeks to provide nutritious meals through the distribution of essential food items to vulnerable families, ensuring they have access to wholesome meals. It is also an opportunity to raise awareness about the pressing issue of hunger particularly now in the history of our dear country and encourage community members to support one another.

This initiative underscores the power of collective action and demonstrates that together, we can make a significant impact. We also hope that spirited and philanthropic individuals can also support through donations of non-perishable food items, including rice, beans, canned goods, and other staples.
