Nigerians living in Canada have presented Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa with an award of excellence for his performance since he assumed office in December last year.

The President of Concern Nigerians in Canada, Hon Olujimi Adekanle who presented the award on behalf of the association said the achievements of Governor Aiyedatiwa in his first 100 days in office made him deserve the award.

Speaking after the presentation of the award at the Governor’s office, Adekanle pledged the support of Nigerians in the diaspora for the administration of the governor in ensuring the success of his tenure.

Adekanle also promised to support Governor Aiyedatiwa in the coming general election, saying the achievements in the 100 days in the office point are signs that the governor would perform if allowed to rule the state.

Some of the steps the governor has taken since he assumed office included the continuation of all ongoing projects of his predecessor, and the regular payment of salary and pension to retired workers. He said the security of lives and property is paramount in the mind of the governor.

The All Progressives Congress APC chieftain described the victory of Governor Aiyedatiwa at the primary election as a testament to the positive impact he has made in the lives of the people within 100 days in office.

Adekanle hailed the governor for displaying an uncommon ethos and leadership qualities before, during, and after the election. He urged other aspirants to support the governor for accelerated development in the state.

According to him, the primary election was free and fair as attested by the electoral committee and the appeal committee. He urged all other aspirants who participated in the election to join hands with Aiyedatiwa to deliver the state to APC.

His words “All the aspirants gave a good account of themselves, both while canvassing for support and during the primary election. In my estimation, they are all qualified to govern the state, but a candidate must emerge from the array of stars. We salute their courage to participate in the process.”
