All is set for this year’s edition of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) Road Walk Against Drug Abuse, Cultism, and Domestic Violence. This 2024 edition will hold with the grand collaboration of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), Lagos State under the leadership of the Chairman, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan.

The Road Walk which will take off from the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja by 8am will terminate at the Lagos State House, Alausa, Ikeja on Tuesday 21st May, 2024. Branded T-Shirt has been provided for the walk.

Esteemed personalities within the security architecture of Lagos state and indeed Nigeria will join the Public Sensitization and Enlightenment Walk. They are the Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade; Commander, NDLEA Lagos State, CN Abubakar Liman Wali;  National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi; Chairman, POCACOV Lagos State, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan; Sector Commander, FRSC Lagos Sector Command, CC Patrick Davou Dung; Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Lagos State, Commandant Adedotun Sunday Keshinro.

Others are South-West Chairman, POCACOV, Amb. Samuel Eniola; the delegates of Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DVSA); Members of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), Members of the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) among other personalities and groups.

On the Walk, NAOSNP President, Oki Samson indicated ‘The issues of drug abuse, cultism, and domestic violence are top three social problems which are rife within the youth population. The Lagos State Police Command have time and again explained that drug abuse and cultism in particular are their biggest concerns.’

‘In the same vein, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) showed that in 2021, the agency dealt with 2,584 domestic and sexual violence cases for adults, out of which women were the greatest victims with 2,349 cases. These facts paint the scenario which stares us in the face’, Oki added.

The intention of the “NAOSNP Walks Against Drug Abuse, Cultism and Domestic Violence” is to create awareness against the prevailing trend of drug abuse, cultism among the youths and domestic violence that has led to permanent disability, road accident, and sometimes, death.
