Origin Tech Group, a leader in Nigeria’s Agri-tech innovation sector, is committed to advancing agricultural productivity and sustainability through cutting-edge mechanization. The company’s flagship initiative, the Greener Hope Large Scale Mechanisation Programme (GHAPP), exemplifies this commitment. GHAPP, a public-private partnership with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, addresses the mechanization needs of farmers across the nation. The program includes the provision of large-scale agricultural equipment, capacity building for youth, and the expansion of medium- to large-scale farms.

During the workshop, Mr. Temitope Fashidemi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s dedication to empowering smallholder farmers through mechanization. He highlighted the “Renewed Hope” Agenda, championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which aims to boost local manufacturing and support regional equipment producers.

Dr. Musa Olasupo, Director of Programmes for GHAPP, stressed the importance of partnerships in scaling up local production of agricultural machinery. He stated, “Through collaborations with institutions and universities, we can develop locally fabricated prototypes, creating sustainable solutions that support smallholder farmers across Nigeria.”

Youth representative Jerry Tobi praised the workshop’s focus on mechanization, stating, “Mechanised farming is key to boosting productivity. This policy is a positive step toward increased investment in the mechanization sector, and it’s inspiring to see youth representation in these discussions.”

Dr. Olasupo reiterated Origin Tech Group’s dedication to fostering growth and sustainability in agriculture through programs that boost productivity, generate employment, and strengthen local communities. “The Greener Hope Programme embodies our commitment to agricultural transformation in Nigeria,” he said. “By empowering youth, enhancing mechanized farming, and contributing to food security, we are working toward a sustainable future for Nigeria.”

As discussions on the National Agricultural Mechanisation Policy progress, Origin Tech Group remains committed to collaborating with the government and other stakeholders to align with Nigeria’s agricultural development goals. The group is paving the way for a resilient and prosperous agricultural sector, positioning mechanization as a key driver of economic growth.
