Access Holdings PLC (“Access Holdings” or “the Company”) is thrilled to announce a significant milestone in its expansion strategy. Its flagship subsidiary, Access Bank PLC (“Access Bank” or “the Bank”), has successfully completed the acquisition of Standard Chartered Bank Angola S.A. and Standard Chartered Bank (Sierra Leone) Limited. This strategic move underscores Access Bank’s commitment to strengthening its footprint across Africa and enhancing its service offerings.

 

Roosevelt Ogbonna, the Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank PLC and CEO of the Banking Group, shared his excitement about this milestone, stating, “We are delighted to have finalized these crucial acquisitions in Angola and Sierra Leone. Access Bank is also progressing toward completing additional transactions that will see the Bank acquire Standard Chartered Bank’s subsidiaries in Cameroon and the Gambia, as well as its Consumer, Private, and Business Banking operations in Tanzania.
