The Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has released its first security news magazine tagged “NAOSNP LENS”, which is being hailed as a watershed moment in security journalism.

The unveiling took place at the Golden Gate Restaurant on Ikoyi Island, Lagos, during a well-attended One-Day Workshop for Media Practitioners on Security Reporting.

The guests of honour, who included the representative of AIG Adeleke Bode, SP Ibrahim Bakare; Public Relations Officer, 9 Brigade, Major AK Bello; Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), ASC1 Seun Abolurin; Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi; Founder, Journalist NG, Mr. Oba Adeoye; CEO of Badinson Security, Mr. Matthew Ibadin; and Tunji Makanjuola, an ICT expert, remarked that the NAOSNP has matured, breaking borders and operating ethically in the realm of well-researched journalism and security reporting.

Mr. Eric Elezuo, the Association’s public relations officer who also serves as the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, said the publication is the result of devotion, commitment, hard work, and the can-do mentality that members of NAOSNP are known for.

At NAOSNP, we’re known for our tenacity, dedication, and can-do attitude, all of which have helped us produce this fantastic publication. It’s a huge step toward our goal of becoming the greatest in the industry, and there’s no turning back now, “Elezuo added.

Mr. Samson Oki, the association’s president, said what transpired on that day was the realisation of a long-held dream; a dream realised, saying that the unwavering efforts of the association’s members collaborated to make the magazine a reality.

“This is just the beginning,” Oki exclaimed, “and we’re not going to rest on our laurels.”

The Inspector General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba, is featured on the cover of the magazine, a 48-page security reference, as he commemorates his one-year in office with verifiable landmarks across the country.
