SAFETY OF TROOPS, RESIDENTS:
NIGERIAN ARMY PLEADS FOR INFORMATION TO HELP DETONATE IEDs

As a result of the tragic incident which happened yesterday in which Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN) exploded causing severe injuries to members of the outlawed group, the Nigerian Army has pleaded with residents of the Southeastern geopolitical zone with valuable information to reveal possible areas where other IEDs were planted in order to help the troops engage in the task of proper detonation.

National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report that the unfortunate incident occured along Eke Ututu – Orsu road in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo state on 1 June 2022.

The Director of Army Public Relations, Brig. Onyema Nwachukwu stressed: ‘We urge all peace-loving people of the South East to please inform troops of possible areas where these explosives have been buried for proper evacuation and disposal. The outlawed group have severally planted IEDs along troops’ patrol routes in failed effort to bring harm to the troops.’

The dissidents had yesterday inadvertently stepped on the IED which they had earlier planted along several routes in Orlu, Orsu Local Government Area, while they were attempting to evade troops’ onslaught against terrorists in the area, NAOSNP gathered.
