INAUGURAL SPEECH OF THE CHAIRMAN NMA LAGOS
Aare. Dr. Benjamin Oluwatosin Olowojebutu (DBO), Newly elected Chairman, Nigeria Medical Association, today in Lagos during his inauguration ceremony said; the growth and development of the people is the highest calling of leadership in the state.
While delivering his speech, he said; I am not only excited but very appreciative of all the supports garnered before and during the election. The victory is so sweet when I take stock of how the journey started about Eight (8) years. I return all the glory to God for giving us unmatchable grace that has given us a memorable success.
Please, I want to make mention of some personalities that deserve public acknowledgement of their supports for this project at the Nigeria Medical Association, Lagos State.
Firstly, my very dearly and beloved wife, Pamela, was not only supportive but showed huge understanding all through the period that finally ended in the victorious election.
My Campaign team lead by the DG Dr Ajibare Adeola with the very strategic advisor Dr Olusola Festus Olowoselu. Our very wise past Chairmen especially my father and mentor Professor Adetokunbo Fabamwo who believed in my vision for NMA Lagos and proposed me for this position not excluding out father Dr. Chief Arigbabuwo who was my seconded.
Our administration will be driven on the following cardinal principles; innovation, Impact, Inclusion, open door policy and Integrity. These principles will help us as a team to build an impactful and united Nigeria Medical Association in Lagos State.
The rebirth of NMA will be anchored on love and it will give voice to every doctor in Lagos State. It is time to cohesively strengthen the bond that holds us together.
I would like to reiterate that we are here to make a huge difference in the management of our association. The followings will give us a peep into the future of the NMA under our leadership;
DATA MUST COUNT: We have an estimate of 8,000 doctors in Lagos State. We have resolved to utilize this number to the benefits and welfare of our members in Lagos State.
CONFIDENCE BOOSTING: We would also ensure that we boost the confidence of our members in participating at all our events. So, our events and program will be people-centered and people-driven.
DIGITALIZATION OF NMA, LAGOS: We would maximize the full benefits of digitalization in advancing the activities and policies of NMA. Belong to a digital age
HARMONIZATION BETWEEN NMA, LAGOS AND HER AFFILIATES
We would harmonize the NMA, Lagos and its affiliates towards ensuring that members benefit maximally from our association.
