Access Bank PLC has released an official statement addressing recent allegations on social media concerning missing funds and unethical behavior within the bank.

A video circulating online, posted by a group calling themselves the Concerned Citizens of Ido-Osun Community, claims there are missing funds totaling N500 million from a customer’s account. Access Bank PLC strongly denies these accusations.

“We have been made aware of a video on social media making allegations of missing funds and unethical behavior against Access Bank PLC. We want to reassure our customers and the public that the safety and security of our customers’ funds are our utmost priorities. Access Bank PLC does not engage in or support any unethical practices,” the statement asserts.

Access Bank PLC confirms that there are no missing funds from the customer’s account or any other accounts within the bank. “The claims of missing funds are entirely false and baseless. There is no N500 million or any other amount missing from the subject customer’s account or from any other customer’s account with us,” the statement clarifies.

Both internal and independent investigations have been conducted, and all findings consistently disprove the allegations. “We and other independent stakeholders in the banking industry have thoroughly investigated these claims and arrived at the same conclusions,” the statement continues.

The bank reaffirms its dedication to maintaining the highest ethical standards and protecting its customers’ interests while adhering to privacy laws. The statement urges the public to be cautious and not to be misled by sensational and unverified claims.

“We remain committed to serving our customers. While we have engaged and will continue to engage with our customers, we must advise the public not to rely on or believe sensational and unverified claims designed to mislead,” the statement concludes.
