The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed confidence that newly appointed acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu will leverage his extensive experience to meet Nigerians’ expectations for a competent, accountable, and trustworthy police force.

Sanwo-Olu described Disu’s appointment by President Bola Tinubu as well-deserved and an honour for Lagos State.

In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the God’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, the governor highlighted Disu’s professionalism, competence, and decades-long contribution to the Nigerian Police Force.

“I congratulate Mr. Olatunji Disu on his appointment as the Acting Inspector General of Police. His elevation to the position of number one police officer in Nigeria is an honour done to us in Lagos State,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He noted that Disu has displayed exceptional leadership in various commands, formations, and departments across the country, including his tenure as Commander of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), popularly known as the ‘Good Boys’ in Lagos State.

“Having worked at state, national, and international levels, I am confident that Disu will bring his wealth of experience, garnered over three decades, to bear on his new assignment and meet the expectations of Nigerians for a competent, accountable, transparent, courageous, and trustworthy police force,” the governor added.
