Morning Star Worldwide hosts weeklong celebration of 100 years of St. Moses Orimolade’s Legacy.
The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church has celebrated its centenary anniversary, marking 100 years since its establishment by Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase Ajagunmokadi, the first Baba Aladura (Praying Father and spiritual head) of the movement.
The weeklong activities, which coincided with the annual General Conference of the Morning Star Church, began on Monday, September 8, 2025, with a Praise Night Musical Concert. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, the church held the official Seraphic 100 Years Anniversary to commemorate its founding on 9/9/1925. The programme also featured a documentary on the history, growth, and global expansion of the C&S.
Other activities included the General Conference sessions, the ordination of new ministers, and a grand Sunday Thanksgiving Service. The thanksgiving began with a colorful parade across the Festac–Amuwo Odofin axis, followed by worship at The Morning Star Cathedral, 402 Road, E-Close, Festac Town, Lagos. The celebration drew delegates, worshippers, and well-wishers from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and the diaspora, reflecting the inclusive and global reach of the church.
“God is expanding the Order” – Baba Aladura Joseph Adenaike Benadin
Speaking during the thanksgiving service, Baba Aladura Joseph Adenaike Benadin (JP), Leader and Spiritual Head of the Morning Star Worldwide, expressed joy at the success of the programme:
“I feel very happy, and I feel that God is doing the job. He is expanding the Order, and to Him be the glory. People came from across Nigeria and beyond, and everything has been very good.”
On the relevance of the centenary to Nigeria, he noted:
“This celebration will bring believers in our Lord Jesus Christ closer together. I believe God will do something wonderful in this country that will surprise everyone. Nigeria cannot continue in this present state—we need food, water, and basic welfare. By God’s grace, this anniversary will open new doors.”
Asked about leadership and governance, Baba Aladura Benadin stated firmly:
“Our leaders know the truth, but many fail to do what they promise. If you care for the poor, God will care for you. If you don’t, God will not even care for you either. I advise them to do what is needful, because only the truth can save Nigeria.”
Message to Nigerians
The centenary leader urged Nigerians to remain hopeful despite hardship:
“Anything that has a beginning must have an end. I encourage everyone to endure and continue to pray. At the appointed time, God will intervene. Let us not lose faith.”
As the C&S movement looks ahead, Baba Aladura Benadin expressed confidence that in the next five years, the “Holy Order” will reach new frontiers never seen before.
