Bayelsa Vigilante arrest 2 suspects over alleged armed robbery

Bayelsa Vigilante arrest 2 suspects; Marvelous Josiah and Godgift Addin over alleged armed robbery.

 

 

Operatives of the Bayelsa State Vigilante Services have arrested two armed robbery suspects over alleged involvement in the robbery of one Jones ‘m’ around the Tombia-Etegwe Market area of Yenagoa, the state capital.

The State Vigilante Chairman, Mr. Doubiye Alagba, made this known in a statement on Wednesday in Yenagoa.

Alagba said the suspects, identified as Marvelous Josiah ‘m’ 23 years and Godgift Addin ‘m’ 23 years old a.k.a Bobby and two others gang members were apprehended on Monday night along the popular Tombia-Etegwe area after they attacked and dispossessed one Jones ‘m’ from Biseni Community in Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa State.

The Vigilante boss said, the suspects are
also members of the notorious cult group. Bobos and are responsible for a series of heinous crimes using locally made pistols to dispossess innocent citizens of their valuables.

“They are four men’s gang, Marvelous Josiah is their gang leader, he is a well-known cultist, they succeeded in using a gun to rob the victims of his belongings and forcefully transferred all his money into their account.

“Our surveillance team traced their identity which led to the arrest of two of them, while effort is on top gear to recover their arms and others who are now at large.

Meanwhile, the suspects have since confessed to being involved in the crime as well as their membership in the cult group.

Alagba noted that the suspects have been handed over to the State Police Security Outfit, Operation Doo-Akpo for further investigations.

He reiterated his unflinching commitment to making Bayelsa State inhabitable for criminals.

He also urges residents to be vigilant and to always take advantage of the security emergency lines to report suspicious activities, especially during this Yuletide season.
