“As you are aware that the NSCDC establishment Act 2003 as amended 2007 specifically mandated the NSCDC to Train, Monitor, Supervise and issue Licence of operation to registered Private Guard Companies in Nigeria. The Command under my watch will go after those illegal operators who are sabotaging the Security architecture of the State. There is no room for any unregistered PGC in Rivers State; the Command Task Force are effectively ready to clam down all unlicensed private security guard companies.

On this note I urge you to synergize with the NSCDC Rivers State Command in order to strengthen the Security architecture of the State. We must collaborate and work out modalities to effectively conduct thorough background check on the Security Guards before hiring them. It behooves you to also improve on the welfare package of the guards, provide necessary gadgets and uniforms to boost their morale as they provide security at Shopping Malls, Hospitals, Financial and Academic Institutions amongst others”.

In his response the Rivers State Chairman of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) and Managing Director, Danger Guard Security Port Harcourt, Hon Davies Kennedy lauded the Rivers State Commandant for the warmth reception and the eye opening security tips.

He maintained that the ASPLSPN Rivers State Chapter will strongly collaborate with the Command by exposing illegal PGC operators as well as provide the Command with credible Intelligence and actionable information that would enhance the fight against criminalities in the State.
