Big Trust Academy Students Tour Kano Police Headquarters

Students and staff of Big Trust Academy, Sharada, Kano, on February 9, 2026, paid an educational visit to the Kano State Police Command Headquarters as part of efforts to broaden their knowledge of policing operations and promote positive engagement between the police and the community.

In a press statement duly signed and made available to journalists by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command disclosed that the visit was hosted by the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, in line with the Inspector-General of Police’s community policing initiative.

The statement noted that the tour commenced at the Bompai Divisional Police Headquarters, where officers introduced the students to the fundamental responsibilities of divisional policing, including incident reporting procedures, conflict resolution mechanisms and the importance of maintaining law and order at the grassroots level.

According to the Command, the visit proceeded to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), where the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, addressed the students on the structure and functions of the Nigeria Police Force.

The senior officers emphasized the critical role of the Police in safeguarding lives and property, preventing crime and ensuring national security. They further encouraged the students to be law-abiding, disciplined and committed to their academic pursuits, while cautioning them against involvement in crime, drug abuse and other social vices capable of jeopardizing their future.

The statement added that the visit ended with an interactive session, during which the students sought clarification on police duties, investigation processes and career opportunities within the Force. The management of Big Trust Academy expressed appreciation to the Command for the warm reception and the opportunity afforded the students to gain practical insight into policing activities.
