BREAKING: Chief Ernest Shonekan, a former Nigerian leader died @85

Chief Ernest Shonekan, the former head of the Nigerian Interim National Government who followed General Ibrahim Babangida’s military regime, has died.

Shonekan, who was a boardroom guru before being appointed to lead the Interim National Government, died in Lagos at the age of 85, according to TVC.

He was the Chairman of the Interim National Government from August 26 to November 17, 1993, when he was deposed in a palace coup led by then-Secretary of Defense General Sani Abacha.
