BREAKING: I won the presidential election and I’ll prove it – Obi vows
By People’s Voice Nigeria | News
The Labour Party presidential candidate in last Saturday’s presidential election, Peter Obi, says that he won the election and that he will prove to Nigerians that he won.
On Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the presidential poll.
Tinubu secured 8,794,726 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) had the second-highest figure with 6,984,52, and Obi polled 6,101,533 votes.
Addressing a world press conference in Abuja, the former governor said that Nigerians were robbed of their true choice.
He insisted that he would pursue justice through the courts and was ready to challenge the results until he proved his argument.
“The good people of Nigeria have again been robbed.” However, I appeal to Nigerians to remain peaceful and law-abiding.
“This is not the end but a beginning… We will explore all legal and peaceful options to reclaim our mandate. “We won the election, and we will prove it to Nigerians.”
“This election will go down as one of the most controversial elections ever conducted in Nigeria,” he said.
“The Labor Party won the election, and I will prove it,” Obi vowed.
He added, “I will challenge this rascality for the future of the country.”
The former governor said he believed the process through which people come into any position is important and that Nigeria needs to sanitize the process.
“On this issue (the presidential election), I am challenging the process,” Obi said.
He said he had challenged several election results and come out victorious, and he would be approaching the court with the firm belief that he would get justice.
“The court exists for this, and they have asked me to go to court, and I will be going to court,” the former governor added.
When he was asked if he was under pressure, he said no one could put him under pressure for challenging the rascality.
“We have to go through this darkness.” The structure of criminality can’t go away overnight.
“All we need to show is commitment and resilience.” “I will be at the forefront and will work through this darkness until daybreak,” Obi vowed.
He asked Obidients not to be discouraged, urging them to take part in the governorship elections fixed for March 11.
“We have elections coming on the 11th.” “We enjoin you to go out and vote,” he said.
