DELTA POLICE ENGAGE ARMED GANG IN DUEL, KILL 1, 2 OTHERS FLEE WITH GUNSHOT

The Nigeria Police, Delta State Command was able to neutralize the activities of an armed gang suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) today. According to the brief press statement released to National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP it was gathered one of the gang was killed while two others escaped with wounds. The Police is however on the trail to arrest them.
The statement by the CP Ari Ali noted: ‘Today 1/8/2022 at about 0735hrs, Police patrol team attached to Illah Division while on stop and search duty at Ogbada quarters along Illah–Akwukwu-Igbo road, three armed men suspected to be members of the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) attacked the team.’
‘The team engaged them in a fierce gun duel during which one of the hoodlums was neutralized while the other members of the gang escaped with gunshot injuries. One AK47 rifle with breech no 2534896 and six rounds of 7.62MM ammunition were recovered. Manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing’, NAOSNP can report.
