Ecobank Launches Digital Business App to Power SME Growth Across Nigeria

Ecobank Nigeria has unveiled a new digital banking solution, the Ecobank Business App, as part of efforts to strengthen the growth and sustainability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) nationwide.
The app, which is now available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, is designed to enable business owners manage payments, track transactions, monitor cash flow and execute day-to-day financial operations directly from their mobile devices.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos, Executive Director, Consumer and Commercial Bank, Ecobank Nigeria, Mr. Kola Adeleke, said the application was developed to address the specific operational and financial challenges facing Nigeria’s diverse SME sector.
According to him, the platform caters to a broad range of businesses including traders, retailers, technology start-ups, online merchants, hospitality operators, farmers, agro-processors, manufacturers, construction firms, professionals, schools and associations.
“The Ecobank Business App is built to simplify financial management for SMEs and help them operate more efficiently in today’s digital economy,” Adeleke said.
He noted that the app enables faster payment collection for merchants and retailers, seamless digital transaction processing for online businesses, efficient vendor and staff payments for hospitality operators, and secure bulk and high-value transactions for manufacturers and construction firms.
Professionals such as lawyers and consultants can generate invoices and receive payments seamlessly, while schools and associations can manage fees, dues and reporting through a single platform, he added.
The launch forms part of Ecobank’s broader strategy to deepen financial inclusion and drive digital adoption among SMEs. The bank continues to support businesses with structured loans, trade finance solutions, guarantees and equipment financing tailored to different sectors.
Ecobank said the new platform will also help re-energise dormant SME accounts, expand market penetration and scale value-chain financing through partnerships with corporate anchors.
