Edo Guber: PDP Akoko-Edo LG Meets, Strategises On Winning

 

The members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Akoko-Edo LGA of Edo State over the weekend met in Igarra, the headquarters of the LGA where they unanimously pledged to work and ensure victory for the party in the September 21 governorship election.

 

Addressing the party faithful, Convener of the meeting which attracted members from the ten wards in the local government area and a chieftain of the party, Abiodun Johnson popularly called Abifa commended the unity of purpose of the members of the party in the local government area.

 

He also lauded the support the running mate to the Governorship Candidate of the party, Osarodion Ogie Esq is giving to the candidate, Asuen Ighodalo, describing the team as a “perfect match that is guaranteed victory on election Day.”

 

Abiodun also expressed confidence that the PDP in the state would resolve all its crises in a short time and approach the election as one.

 

He said. “This is the time the party needs to work together as a family to win the next election and ensure that the PDP retains the state and I believe this will be achieved.

 

“We have a very good team. Our candidate is paired with a good man who has been of immense help to people in the three Senatorial Districts including me. That is a team that will take Edo State to a level of reference by others in terms of development so all hands must be on deck to make sure this is done.”

 

The Chairman of the Council, Hon. Tajudeen Alade expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Convener of the meeting and enumerated projects so far completed and ongoing ones by his administration, which he said were already materials for campaigns once the embargo on the campaign is lifted.

 

On her part, Mrs PO Balogun expressed gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki for considering Akoko-Edo worthy for the office of Deputy Governor of the State, which according to her, has put an end to the age-long cry of marginalization.

 

Among the PDP leaders who attended the event were the Executive Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Council, Hon Tajudeen Alade (Esq); Hon. Mrs P.O Balogun, Special Adviser to the Governor of Edo State; Hon Solomon Taiwo, Senior Special Assistant ( SSA) to the Governor; Mrs Bose Ashipa, Hon Fatai Maliki, Ward Chairmen among others.
