In celebration of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) has initiated a consumer credit fund specifically for armed forces personnel. This effort, in collaboration with Fewchore Finance, seeks to benefit 20,000 personnel in its first phase. Aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to provide consumer credit access to over 50% of working Nigerians by 2030, the initiative underscores a commitment to enhancing the welfare of Nigerian soldiers.

With this affordable consumer credit, armed forces members can now acquire essential household assets and address immediate financial needs, with preferential terms for locally manufactured goods. The program aims to alleviate financial burdens, boost morale, and improve the well-being of soldiers’ families.

President Tinubu, a long-time advocate for the welfare of uniformed personnel, reflects his dedication to creating meaningful support systems through this initiative. Uzoma Nwagba, Managing Director/CEO of CREDICORP, remarked, “This program demonstrates Mr. President’s dedication to those who protect and serve our nation. By making credit accessible to armed forces personnel, we not only honor their service but also further the President’s goal of improving lives through consumer credit.”

Sunkanmi Balogun, Managing Director/CEO of Fewchore Finance, added, “We are proud to support the brave men and women of the armed forces. At Fewchore Finance, our longstanding relationship with the Armed Forces drives our commitment to creating solutions that address real needs.”

This initiative, targeting 20,000 beneficiaries in its initial phase, will involve all branches of the armed forces. A phased implementation ensures equitable access, coordinated with the respective Accounts and Budget departments. Launching this program on Armed Forces Remembrance Day highlights the nation’s gratitude and commitment to the courageous individuals safeguarding its peace and security.
