EXPOSING THE CORPSE OF OLUBADAN, A POWERFUL YORUBA RULER IS SACRILEGE.– Erelu Oodua attacks family, kingmakers

 

The international custodian of African culture, the Erelu Oodua, and the titleholder of Irawo Oni Oodua of Yoruba land has attacked the kingmakers in Ibadan, Oyo State, for exposing the corpse of late Oba Saliiu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadan who joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.

The international custodian of African culture, the Erelu Oodua, and the titleholder of Irawo Oni Oodua of Yoruba land has attacked the kingmakers in Ibadan, Oyo State, for exposing the corpse of late Oba Saliiu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadan who joined his ancestors in the early hours of Sunday at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.

Expressing anger over the image of the corpse of the Monarch that went viral on social media on Sunday afternoon, Erelu, the USA-based businesswoman said it is a sacrilege to expose the corpse of Olubadan on the internet which she described as a powerful Yoruba ruler when alive.

On her Facebook page, she wrote: “Exposing the corpse of Olubadan, a powerful Yoruba ruler is sacrilege. Haba! Shame on the Ibadan kingmakers, shame on the family of Olubadan, shame on Ibadan people.

“Osun/Oyo state shame on you. I am scared, Yoruba culture is missed/lost. How can we get it back??? It’s finished, rest in peace Alayeluwa Olubadan of Ibadan.Shame! Shame!! Shame”, she added.
