In the wake of recent allegations reported by Thisday Newspaper, Arise Television, and a circulating video regarding a court case filed by Dr. Agbai Eke, FirstBank has released an official statement categorically denying claims of fraud within the Bank. The institution described the allegations as “unfounded and false,” asserting that its findings reveal unethical dealings between Dr. Eke and a former employee, which occurred without the Bank’s knowledge or involvement.

FirstBank emphasized that it operates under the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and professionalism. The Bank disclosed that the matter is now before the Court, and it has refrained from further comments to ensure a fair judicial process. Furthermore, the Bank has reported the case to law enforcement agencies, which are conducting ongoing investigations, with suspects providing what the Bank describes as “useful statements.”

Reassuring its stakeholders, FirstBank reiterated its unwavering commitment to safeguarding customers’ interests and maintaining its reputation for integrity.

As this case unfolds, FirstBank is determined to uphold the trust of its customers and the public by addressing the issue decisively and responsibly.

This is the latest development in the Bank’s efforts to tackle misinformation and protect its legacy of excellence in the financial industry. Stay tuned for updates as investigations progress.
