The Lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), Bolaji Idowu, is set to remain in custody at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, following allegations of involvement in a ₦1.5 billion fraud.
Trek Africa Newspaper reported that Pastor Idowu was detained over claims of real estate fraud and money laundering.
According to police sources speaking to SaharaReporters, he will remain in a police cell as investigations continue, with billions of naira allegedly traced to both his church and personal accounts.
“The case began with one of his pastors, who defrauded several people through a real estate scheme,” a police insider disclosed. “Our investigation revealed that funds linked to the scheme were first traced to the church’s account and later transferred to Pastor Bolaji’s personal account.”
Pastor Idowu, known for his popular Next Level Prayer Conference, founded HICC in December 2003. The church has since expanded across Nigeria, the UK, and the US, attracting over 70,000 worshippers both in person and online.
Beyond his pastoral duties, he leads the “Next Level Prayers” platform, which focuses on helping individuals deepen their prayer lives through both physical and virtual sessions.
