The waste to wealth training took place at HOJ Foundation in Ejigbo, the training attracted both members of the Foundation and stakeholders in the community.

The guests speaker Mr. Alexander Akhigbe from Africa Cleanup Initiative, in the training showed them types of waste to keep, ways of sorting them out, how to keep them anf ways of knowing their prices.

Mrs. Patience, one of the participants in the training on how to turn waste to wealth. She thanked HOJ, Mrs. Uche and the guest speakers for exposing her to this short ways of making quick money. She encouraged hed colleagues to put to practice what they learn today because it will definitely put food on their table.

Mrs. Uchenna Ofomata the Program Director Women and Health Hon. Okey-Joe Foundation. She expressed her gratitude to HOJ Foundation for making the training possible, in her words she said “ this training has opened the eye of our women on how they can make money from things they throw away or things they see as garbage.”

“We’ve been looking for ways women can be financially independent. We have a community of women in the foundation and most times we have the vulnerable women who have nothing doing and they have their families, their children are hungry and all that. At a point I felt like, okay, even if there should be businesses women can do with zero capital, so this lead to the idea of turning waste to wealth. “

Mrs. Uche further said”Am glad that they really got value throughout the training and they were really impressed, a lot of them have decided to actually take this waste to wealth business to the next level. I know that it’s a business that can actually change their lives and their families because it wont affect any other business they are doing. So I encourage all of them to be serious, to be intentional about it and never give up. It’s not going to be easy but obviously you have to keep pushing to make it.”

“ Once again i want to thank Hon. Okay-Joe MHR, for what he’s doing through the foundation and as a House of Rep in Oshodi-Isolo constituency. He has been supportive, especially when it comes to women and youth in the foundation. In his constituency, he has always been up and doing, Hon. Okey-Joe has passed many bills and has moved many motions which has brought plenty of developments to his constituency.

Development like : building of Classrooms, roads, street — lights, provision of electric transformers, empowerment and so on.
