The Jigawa state Government says the enrollment of the state workforce into the Integrated Personnel Payroll Management System (IPPMS) is not aimed at witch-hunting anyone.Senior Special Assistant, Students Affairs to Jigawa State Governor, Amb. Muhammad Salisu Seeker Dutse disclosed this in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST.
There has been public outcry over the ongoing verification and enrollment of civil servants into the IPPMS which some tagged as a means to downsize the state workforce.
It was claimed that the exercise had caused over 7800 unverified civil servants to lose their April salaries.
However, Amb. Salisu said the exercise was done with good intentions.
He explained that some of the benefits include- sanitizing the system and facilitating the prompt payment of salaries and other rights of employees.
He said the IPPMS was also to ensure that every employee got all their rights on time without any problem.
“It will also help the government to know exactly the number of its workforce and trace ghost workers in the state payroll,” he stated.
