JMG Marks Clean Energy Day with Major Solar Milestone, Saves ₦40 Million Annually in Diesel Costs

By The People’s Voice Nigeria News

As the world marks Clean Energy Day, JMG Limited, a leading provider of hybrid and integrated electromechanical solutions, has reinforced its commitment to Nigeria’s clean energy transition with a landmark achievement: a 129-kilowatt hybrid solar system at its Lagos headquarters that is reducing diesel consumption and saving the company up to ₦40 million annually.

The solar installation now supplies up to 90 percent of the building’s energy needs, generating approximately 15.48 MWh of clean energy monthly, eliminating over 71 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, and reducing diesel use by more than 34,800 litres per year. Designed and executed by JMG Solar, the system integrates LONGi 575W solar panels, Deye high-efficiency hybrid inverters, and 122.9 kWh of lithium-ion battery storage, delivering a reliable, scalable, and future-ready clean energy solution.

JMG operates through specialized divisions including JMG Power (diesel and gas generators), JMG Solar (renewable energy solutions), JMG Clima (cooling systems), JMG Elevator (lifts and vertical transportation), JMG Electra (electrical infrastructure), and JMG Industrial (air compressor solutions). Together, these divisions power homes, buildings, and industries across Nigeria with efficient, environmentally responsible systems.

Speaking on the company’s sustainability vision, Rabi Jammal, Group General Manager of JMG Limited, said:

“JMG is not just advocating clean energy, we are running on it. Our headquarters demonstrates that smart solar solutions can deliver immediate financial and environmental benefits for businesses in Nigeria.”

The solar project recently drew visits from key stakeholders and business partners, who witnessed firsthand how renewable energy adoption translates into tangible cost savings, operational efficiency, and reduced fossil fuel dependence.

Beyond its headquarters, JMG continues to advance sustainability across sectors through energy-efficient lift systems, renewable power solutions for healthcare facilities, smart air compressors for factories, and advanced cooling technologies for data centers, proving that high performance and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

Reflecting on Clean Energy Day, Jammal added:

“We are proud of the progress we have made in advancing sustainability across Nigeria. JMG remains committed to driving economic development while reducing environmental impact through smarter, cleaner energy solutions.”

JMG’s recent milestones reaffirm its long-term commitment to clean energy and sustainable development, integrating innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility across all operations to create environments that balance comfort, safety, and performance while contributing to a greener, more resilient Nigeria.
