Lagos CP Orders Transfer of Personnel at Ajah Police Division

Lagos State Police Commissioner, Abiodun Alabi, has effected the transfer of all Police personnel at the Ajah Division of the Command.

The development followed recent incidents of extrajudicial killing of two Nigerians, most recently, a Lagos-based female lawyer, Bolanle Raheem, who was allegedly shot dead on Christmas day by ASP Drambi Vandi.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed in a series of tweets on Monday, while reacting to a video posted by Punch on shanties built around the Ajah Police station.

“I can confirm that this publication has been overtaken by events. The new DPO Ajah, CSP Adolf Ogwu, had earlier in the week dismantled all the shanties around the police station.

“In addition, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Abiodun Alabi, FDC has already effected the transfer out of ALL personnel of the division, with replacement from other divisions. This would fully materialize in a couple of days.

“While appreciating @MobilePunch for the exposé, we encourage more Lagos residents to, as usual, say something whenever they see something, as this would translate to a better policing experience for all. Remember, security is everyone’s business,” the tweet read.

Hundeyin also released the telephone numbers of Police Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers in Lagos, to the public.
