The undeniable and incontestable fact is that Lagos is geographically positioned on the map of Nigeria to be spontaneously prosperous, which makes it more lucrative than any other state in Nigeria. Hence, the prosperity of the state should not be ascribed to an individual.

Following the echoes being channeled to an individual of being responsible for the prosperity of Lagos state, a group, Eko Tuntun Vanguard for Greater Lagos, has rejected beliefs and attributes, saying that Lagos is geographically positioned to be prosperous.

The group, in a statement issued by the group’s Director, Media, and Publicity, Lanre Oguntimehin, cautioned Lagosians not to ascribe Lagos’ prosperity to an individual but, rather come to the reality that Lagos is geographically positioned to be prosperous.

According to him, “It is unfortunate that some persons want to mischievously attribute the prosperity of Lagos to the achievement of a certain personality.

“So, it is only a naive person that will ascribe the prosperity of our dear Lagos to a personality, who have done so little in eight years of governance of the state when compared to the legendary Baba Kekere, Alh Lateef Jakande who democratically catalyzed the development of “Eko Tuntun” (New Lagos). He spearheaded Free Education, Low Cost Housing, General Hospitals, Public Works Department, Direct Labour Agency, Well motivated Public Service, etc. He was at the verge of commencing the Lagos Railways Services before the democratic dispensation was truncated.

Jakande showed under four years, the size of deliveries that is expected from a reliable government not even with the huge tax imposed on the people,” The statement noted.

The group however, urged Lagosians, and everyone to deceit from the belief that Lagos prosperity is to an individual.

“It is time to put a halt to the comedic circus of the achievements of one man, who fortunately had so much funds at his disposal but so little to justify the funds. The so called development previous government has to show about Lagos from 1999 to date his followers should stop talking.

Is it not sad and pathetic that despite the huge revenue generated from Lagos state? The state is still the most indebted in Nigeria. So, what is the cry about his achievements in Lagos.

These clowns are cheap users of men and that is why none of the so called men they made is proud to come out and sell the product. The product is obviously caustic,” the statement reads.

“Osibajo was not stupid when he refused to step down, he knows the implications and also the danger ahead for Nigerians. We hope Nigerians will do the needful by couching his intention into retirement.

We have had enough of undeserving pains for almost Eight (8) years of completely failed leadership and government. So it is time to be obedient to our Nation’s call for efficient and people-focused leadership, ” the group queried
