The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has received a delegation from the Osun State Fire Service on a three-day working visit aimed at fostering inter-agency collaboration and enhancing operational efficiency in fire safety and emergency management.

The visiting team, led by the representative of the Osun State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Alhaji Surajudeen Olakunle, alongside the Director of Osun State Fire Service, Ogunniran Toso Victor alongside five others, were warmly welcomed by the Controller General of LSFRS, Margaret Abimbola Adeseye, at the Service Headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja.

Speaking during the courtesy visit, Adeseye who double as the Chairperson, Association of State Fire Chiefs/Directors expressed delight at hosting the delegation, noting that the exchange of knowledge and operational experience among fire services remains vital to strengthening emergency response across states. She reaffirmed LSFRS’ commitment to collaboration, innovation, and capacity building within the fire safety sector.

In his remarks, Alhaji Surajudeen Olakunle described LSFRS as a pacesetter in fire safety administration and emergency response, commending the Service for its professionalism and structured operational framework. Similarly, Ogunniran Toso Victor stated that the visit was designed to understudy LSFRS’ best practices, operational strategies, and training models with a view to improving service delivery and safeguarding lives and protecting property and environment in Osun State.

Activities on the first day featured a comprehensive departmental/units tour following the courtesy visit at the Headquarters. The second day of the study tour saw the delegation undertake operational visits to Ebute Elefun, Ilupeju, Isolo, Bolade, and Oniru Fire Stations to observe station management, equipment deployment, and emergency response protocols.

The working visit concluded on the third day with a tour of the Ikeja Fire Station which also houses the LSFRS Training School, where the delegation was exposed to the Service’s training curriculum, capacity development initiatives, and modern firefighting techniques.
