LSSTF Donates Four Patrol Vehicles to Lagos Police, Strengthens Anti-Crime Operations

By The People’s Voice Nigeria News

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated four new patrol vehicles to the Lagos Police Command to bolster the newly established ‘Anti-Crime Patrol’, reinforcing security and round-the-clock patrols across key corridors of the state, the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) reports.

The vehicles were handed over by the Executive Secretary/CEO of LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, in line with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to continuously enhance security operations. This initiative is part of renewed efforts to expand operational capacity, improve mobility, and support police-led crime prevention strategies.

During the presentation, Dr. Ogunsan reaffirmed LSSTF’s commitment to supporting the Lagos State Police Command, expressing confidence that the new vehicles would significantly boost operational efficiency. He emphasized that LSSTF will continue to mobilize private-sector support, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and sustain investments that ensure the safety of residents, businesses, and critical infrastructure across Lagos State.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the command, Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh commended LSSTF for its consistent interventions. He described the donation as “an extremely great initiative” that aligns with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s strategic vision and the Nigeria Police Force’s agenda under Inspector-General of Police IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

CP Jimoh noted that the Eko Strike Force is a critical component of Lagos’ security framework, complementing the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) to ensure effective patrol and protection of lives and property.

He further revealed that the four patrol vehicles mark the launch of a new security initiative approved by IGP Egbetokun and supported by Governor Sanwo-Olu. The new Anti-Crime Patrol and Community Protection Team will be headquartered in Maroko, with operational coverage spanning Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and the Lekki–Epe corridor.

The Commissioner added that the Governor, through LSSTF, has pledged a total of 10 vehicles to fully operationalize the new anti-crime team, ensuring 24-hour patrols and enhanced crime prevention across the high-traffic corridor.

Senior officers present at the handover ceremony included Director of Admin, LSSTF, Mr. Degbola Lewis; Deputy Commissioners of Police, DCP Lawal Adeshina and DCP Khan Salihu; Commanders of MOPOL units 2, 20, and 49; CSP Aka Shittu; and Engr. Steve Olu, Chairman, Police VGS.
