The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has sent hearty congratulations to the acting Inspector-General of Police of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ag. IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu on his appointment to the no. 1 Policing role in Nigeria. The appointment which happened yesterday followed the resignation of the immediate past IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
It would be recalled that the LSSTF boss, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan had received AIG Tunji Disu in the LSSTF Headquarters only a few days ago upon his assumption as AIG in charge of the Force CID Annex Alagbon, Lagos. However, as things would shape up, in quick succession, AIG Disu has left Lagos to take up the pinnacle role in the Nigeria Police Force, Abuja. The ag. IGP Disu was earlier decorated today with the new rank by President Bola Tinubu and has since moved to the Force Headquarters where he was welcomed by the immediate past IGP Egbetokun. He awaits confirmation of the Police Council to become the substantive IGP.

The LSSTF boss, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, conveying the message of the public-private funding agency, LSSTF reiterated that ag. IGP Olatunji Disu is not only a Lagos born, he also did excellently well in his role as the Commander of the Lagos-owned special outfit, Rapid Response Squad RRS. This role, he highlighted ‘defined ag. IGP Tunji Disu’s career, warmed him into the hearts of Lagosians as the Head of ‘The Good Guys of Lagos’ as the RRS came to be known since his tenure, and emblazoned widespread goodwill on him across Nigeria.’

He added that Disu is a fine, athletic Police officer who has won laurels for Nigeria in sports internationally, and has also abundantly flourished in all roles that he has worked over the years. ‘The track record of ag. IGP Disu will continue to shine for him in this new position. I believe that he is going to be exceptional.’
‘With the assumption of ag. IGP Disu into this new role, I can clearly say that we are doing something right at the LSSTF. Our brainchild, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), is growing stronger and stronger. It is producing the best of officers across the Nigeria Police. It has produced former IGP Kayode Egbetokun. Now it has produced our acting IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu. RRS products are now leading the Force.’
