A 38-year-old Benue-born Lagos resident Nigerian, Ejeh Attah Odang, a.k.a. Ejeh Dagogo, is set to embark on a #thankAsoldier trek mission to commemorate Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD) on January 15, 2024, from Lagos to Abuja to show appreciation to the Nigerian military for their selfless sacrifices and efforts in liberating Nigeria in security.

The journey which was tagged: #ThankAsoldier (Honour to the dead, gratifying the living!) is expected to complete within 35 Days, covering a distance of 24km daily.

Ejeh Dagogo, while engaging with our correspondent, said what motivates him to embark on the #thankAsoldier trek mission, a distance of over 806.4km from Lagos to Abuja, is the unacknowledged sacrifices of the fallen compatriot soldier who died in active service, which motivates him to emark on the #thankAsoldier walk to mark 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD), as a means of saying thank you for their selfless services.

He added that his objective on the walk is, but is not limited to, drawing the attention of the Nigerian National Assembly to the plight of the Nigerian Armed Forces and seeking better welfare for them. He also added that he is physically, mentally, and morally prepared to enroute Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Kogi, and Abuja on a journey of over 805.4 kilometres.

The journey is scheduled to kick off at the Armed Forces Remembrance Arcade, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, immediately after the Army Forces Remembrance Day Parade and laying of wreaths ceremony.

He will be received by the Chief of Defence Staff in the company of Hon. George Adegeye, a member representing Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
