Minnesota United FC’s striker Tani Oluwaseyi has received his first call-up to the Canadian national team! The 24-year-old will join the squad for their upcoming friendlies against the Netherlands (June 6) and France (June 9) in big blow to the Nigeria Football Federation.

Born in Abuja, Nigeria, Oluwaseyi has been a standout for Minnesota this season, leading the team in goals (7) and assists (4) in just 15 appearances. His impressive form even earned him the starting spot over Finnish international Teemu Pukki.

Drafted 17th overall by Minnesota in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft, Oluwaseyi spent last year on loan with San Antonio FC in the USL Championship, where he racked up 17 goals and 7 assists in 27 games.
