You Have No Place In Amuwo Odofin
– Stakeholders from various Estates Residents Association demands better representation in the interest of it’s people
Our findings from the various Residential Estates in Amuwo Odofin have revealed that their Stakeholders are fully prepared to educate Hon. Mojisola Alli Macaulay, the Member representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1. How well she has misrepresented the people since taking office in 2019.
The highpoint of their grievances is to demand that she step aside and disconnect herself from Amuwo-Odofin because she has no picture of what Amuwo Odofin, where she represents, looks like.
In an interaction with People’s Voice Nigeria Online News, the stakeholders of these residential estates in Amuwo Odofin have pointed out the fact that the people of Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1 have suffered unimaginable misrepresentation since 2019 when Mojisola Alli Macaulay became their representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly. There is no locus standi parading herself to seek a second term.
Her tenure has been laced with undeserving public intimidation, using her privileges orchestrated through our votes to oppress her people. For the very first time ever since she assumed office in 2019, she wrote a letter to the estate and CDAs in Amuwo-Odofin, knowing fully that the election was very close, claiming to come and have an interactive and courtesy visit with us. It won’t work, one of the executives said.
What does she know about Amuwo Odofin?
The facts remain that she stays in Magodo, and now that the election is near, she has written a letter to various excos of residential estates in Amuwo-Odofin asking for a courtesy visit so that she can snap pictures, make videos, and deceive people that she has a good relationship with the people of Amuwo-Odofin.
Her coming will not be accommodated by us whom she has neglected since after she won her elections.
How can you disconnect yourself from Amuwo-Odofin and associate yourself with Magodo and still claim you are representing us? It’s only one without a conscience that will behave like Hon Mojisola Alli Macaulay.
It’s another election cycle, and that’s why she wants to meet with us, giving assurance of fake promises. This is to enable her to secure a second term. We will not tolerate any more nonsense for much longer. We are tired of being deceived by these kinds of politicians.
We have had a series of meetings concerning the various challenges bedeviling our community. Many of the invitations were sent to Hon. Mojisola and which she never honoured. If she thinks we’re lying, she should come out and point to any project she facilitated in the Amuwo-Odofin Constituency in over three years in the State’s Parliament.
All projects in the various residential estates in Amuwo-Odofin were carried out by the residents through dues and fund raising. We see her desperation to meet with us as another mockery of herself. That is a fact.
We don’t want somebody who permanently lives in Magodo to represent Amuwo-Odofin. We need people in Amuwo to represent us in 2023. Hon. Mojisola Alli-Macaulay has no stand in Amuwo-Odofin and she should remain in Magodo, the stakeholder said.
Another stakeholder in Amuwo-Odofin who spoke with our correspondent also expressed his feelings about Hon. Mojisola, saying they were so disappointed in her representation because ever since she assumed office in 2019, this is the very first time we heard from her. She has been on sabbatical. Our CDA and estate is one of the many estates in Amuwo-Odofin, and as you know, we have the GRA and other areas. We have not seen or felt any of her impacts for over three (3) years and now that she has written to the excos of the estates where our estate is one of them, these are some of the things we have to discuss because we have not seen or felt any of her impacts at all across any of the areas of Amuwo-Odofin.
To the best of my knowledge, Hon. Mojisola has no single project in Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1. And as for the rumor circulating that she disbursed funds to the Estate Association to plan for her coming, I can tell you for free that we have not received a dime from her, and to be honest with you, we don’t need that. By God’s grace, we are not from a low social class. We don’t have a need for that to be given money or incentives to host anyone. We are open to anyone who comes to see us and speaks to us. We are open to receiving them and making our point very clear. Not just her. Our representatives have not been carrying us along. Everything we have has been provided through self-help on the entire estates in Amuwo-Odofin. “Everything”, I mean 100%. In any of our projects, there is no local government, no state government, or even federal government funding. From the estate’s security house, security personnel, electric poles, wiring, transformer, we have done all our roads with interlocking stones, likewise all our drainage. That project alone in my estate cost us over 100 million naira, and we funded it by ourselves.
We need people who are competent, have a passion and interest for the people of Amuwo-Odofin, and are ready to serve the people they represent, not to serve themselves. People who will be our servants while we are their masters. All we need in Amuwo-Odofin is a servant leader who will think about their constituency and bring improvements to the constituency they represent.
