The convener and leader of Ondo state scholars arena development initiative, comrade Odofin Oluwafemi advices Fubara to reconsider party affiliation. The Ondo State Scholars Arena for Development Initiative, a registered platform with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), boasts over 10,000 members across the 18 local governments of Ondo State.

In a recent interview with our correspondence in Akure the state capital, Odofin Oluwafemi (C-Banking) expressed his sentiments on the current political landscape in Rivers State. Specifically, he advised Governor Fubara to consider defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Odofin Oluwafemi, Fubara’s situation within the PDP has become untenable. “It’s unfortunate that the minority leader, Senator Bamidele, couldn’t even argue to support Fubara, a governor within his own party,” he stated. Furthermore, Odofin Oluwafemi highlighted the inability of PDP parliamentarians to block the state of emergency in Rivers State through their votes.

In light of these developments, Odofin Oluwafemi suggested that Fubara should decamp to the APC before the expiration of the state of emergency and align himself with President Bola Tinubu. “If I were Fubara, I would join forces with the APC, as it seems he has been abandoned by his own party,” he emphasized.

The declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing security concerns, has suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy, and the House of Assembly. Odofin Oluwafemi questioned the absence of PDP governors and party leaders during this critical period, stating that Fubara appears to be isolated.

In conclusion, Odofin Oluwafemi reiterated the age-old adage, “If you can’t beat them, join them.” He believes that Fubara’s best course of action would be to defect to the APC and secure his political future.
