Osun Election: PDP’s Ademola Adeleke Wins 17 out of 30 LGAs Declared Winner
The candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke has emerged the winner of the Osun Governorship election conducted on July 16, 2022.
The Returning Officer, Prof Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos announced Senator Adeleke as a winner and returned elected having polled 403,371 to defeat the incumbent governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola who galt was a sweet victory for Adeleke who won with a slight margin in the first ballot in 2018.
He, however, lost during the rerun to Governor Oyetola.
Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the Osun State governorship election.
Incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), however, won the remaining 13 LGAs.
