In a significant political development, over 3,000 members of the late Senator Ifeanyi Uba’s political organizations have officially joined the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), solidifying their endorsement of Governor Charles Soludo for a second term. This landmark event underscores the growing support for Soludo’s administration.
The groups include Afa Igbo Efuna, the Ifeanyi Uba Solidarity Movement (IUSM), Uba Disciples, Young Progressive Party (YPP), Ifeanyi Uba’s Foundation, and the Uba Nation Media Centre. During a ceremony held at the International Convention Centre in Awka, Anambra State, the defectors pledged their allegiance, highlighting their shared vision with Governor Soludo’s leadership.
Hon. Emma Ezike, a representative of the IUSM, explained their decision: “Our late principal believed in a better Anambra, and we are determined to honor his vision. After assessing the progress under Governor Soludo’s leadership, we concluded that APGA aligns with our aspirations.”
Similarly, Hon. James Oguejiofor, Coordinator of Afa Igbo Efuna, emphasized Soludo’s transformative projects in the state. He praised the significant infrastructure development, citing visits to Okpoko, Ekwulobia, and the Fun City, among others. Oguejiofor, originally from Oraifite, lauded the administration’s achievements, particularly road construction in his community, which inspired his alignment with Soludo’s political trajectory.
Governor Soludo, in his remarks, described APGA as Nigeria’s premier progressive party since its founding in 2002. He also shared reflections on his interactions with the late Senator Ifeanyi Uba, reaffirming their shared commitment to Anambra’s progress. He invited citizens, including those in the entertainment industry, to rally behind his re-election campaign ahead of the November gubernatorial election.
