In line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for the celebration of Police Week 2026, the Zone 2 Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force continued its active participation with a walkathon exercise on day two of the event.

The exercise, which took place in the early hours of the day, was led by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, alongside senior officers and personnel of the headquarters.

The walkathon recorded a massive turnout of officers from the zonal headquarters, highlighting the commitment of the personnel to promoting healthy living. It also served as an opportunity to foster stronger relationships and positive engagement between the police and members of the public.

Speaking during the exercise, AIG Jimoh emphasized that the walkathon goes beyond physical fitness, describing it as a reflection of the Police Force’s dedication to professionalism and approachability in the discharge of its duties.

The event forms part of a series of activities lined up to commemorate the 2026 National Police Day, with the Zone 2 Headquarters playing a prominent role in the nationwide celebration.
