Rite Foods Renews Rite-On-The-Beach Partnership with POP Beach Club

By The People’s Voice Nigeria News

Rite Foods Limited, Nigeria’s leading food and beverage company, has renewed its strategic Rite-On-The-Beach partnership with POP Beach Club, Lagos, reaffirming its commitment to environmental stewardship, community development, youth empowerment, and educational sustainability.

The renewed collaboration strengthens the Rite-On-The-Beach initiative—a points-based, community-driven plastic recovery and environmental responsibility programme designed to combat plastic pollution while delivering measurable social value to underserved coastal communities across Lagos State.

Building on the successes recorded in previous engagements, the partnership will continue to combine structured beach clean-up exercises, environmental education, advocacy, and community collaboration aimed at promoting responsible waste management and reducing plastic pollution in coastal areas.

Speaking on the renewed partnership, Mr. Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, said the initiative reflects the company’s holistic sustainability vision.

“At Rite Foods, sustainability goes beyond environmental responsibility; it is about creating shared value for people, communities, and future generations. Renewing our partnership with POP Beach Club enables us to integrate environmental action with education, youth empowerment, and community development in a practical and measurable way,” he said.

The initiative aligns strongly with Rite Foods Limited’s EYEC Sustainability Pillars, particularly through its innovative model of exchanging recovered plastic waste for school supplies. This approach directly supports educational continuity for children and dependents within participating communities.

Through the partnership, Rite Foods will continue to engage young people as environmental advocates, fostering leadership, responsibility, and sustainability awareness through organised clean-ups and plastic recovery activities. Collectively, these efforts contribute to cleaner beaches, reduced marine pollution, and a healthier coastal ecosystem.

Commenting on the collaboration, Mr. Akin Disu, Convener and Chief Executive Officer of POP Beach Club, described the partnership as impactful and community-focused.

“Our partnership with Rite Foods has shown that environmental action can be impactful, visible, and community-driven. We are committed to deepening the impact and continuing to use our platform as a catalyst for social change,” he said.

Since its launch in 2020, the Rite-On-The-Beach initiative has helped reshape waste disposal habits and promote long-term, community-led environmental stewardship. The programme actively engages undergraduates through awareness campaigns, environmental residencies, and volunteering opportunities, helping to build a pipeline of informed young advocates for responsible waste management.

In 2025, the Plastic Free July campaign executed under the initiative in Lagos translated awareness into action, recording the recovery of over 40 tonnes of plastic waste within one month. Collectively, the programme demonstrates how purposeful partnerships can move plastic pollution management beyond isolated clean-ups and position it as a shared responsibility among communities, corporate organisations, and stakeholders.

Rite Foods Limited remains committed to delivering high-quality, innovative products while advancing sustainable development through responsible business practices and community-focused initiatives.

POP Beach Club is a lifestyle and community platform dedicated to promoting environmental responsibility, sustainability awareness, and social impact through creative engagement and community-driven programmes.
