Rotimi Benjamin Congratulates Governor Aiyedatiwa on Re-election Victory

Comrade Rotimi Benjamin, a former governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Ondo State, has congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his successful re-election as Governor.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured victory in the November 16, 2024 election, defeating his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a message from the United States on Friday, Comrade Benjamin, a trade unionist and President of ROTMAX OIL AND GAS LTD, praised the presidency, security agencies, and electoral body for conducting a peaceful, transparent, and credible election in Ondo State. He also emphasized the need to prevent selfish individuals from seeking political offices.
His statement reads:
“I extend my warmest congratulations to you, Your Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on your well-deserved victory to continue as Governor of Ondo State. The recently concluded gubernatorial poll on November 16, 2024, was widely recognized as peaceful, credible, transparent, free, and fair.
“Your tireless efforts and dedication to the people of Ondo State have truly paid off, and I am honored to have supported your candidacy from the start.
“I commend you for your bravery and for winning the hearts of the people. I also appreciate the citizens of Ondo State for turning out in large numbers to exercise their right to vote and for vigilantly protecting their votes.
“I salute the security agencies for their professionalism and non-partisanship during the election, which is a significant improvement from past elections.
“I applaud INEC for implementing a virtual portal for uploading results directly from polling units, which prevented any electoral violations. I urge that this template be used in all future elections conducted by INEC.
“I also commend President Bola Tinubu for creating an enabling environment for a credible off-circle election in Ondo State and encourage him to continue promoting electoral reform to ensure peace and credibility in our electoral processes nationwide.
“Lastly, I appeal to all Nigerians not to lose hope in our country, as this election has shown that persistence will lead us to the Nigeria of our dreams.
“Once again, please accept my heartfelt congratulations. I look forward to working closely with you to ensure that our state continues to thrive and prosper. Congratulations, Your Excellency,” Comrade Benjamin stated.
