Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, PhD+, has publicly celebrated the 30th birthday of his son, Oluwaseun Jimoh-Ibrahim, describing the milestone as a moment of personal pride and academic fulfillment.

In a congratulatory message released on Thursday, the senator acknowledged his son’s journey through years of rigorous academic pursuit, noting that the attainment of a PhD marks a turning point into full independence and self-direction.

“At 30, you are now free to do what you like with your PhD,” the message stated, reflecting a long-held family principle that placed education at the center of personal development and responsibility.

Senator Ibrahim highlighted Oluwaseun’s steady academic progression, which includes qualifications such as an LL.B (Hons), LL.M (Buckingham), BL, an MSc from the University of Cambridge, and the completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme. He described the journey as a “long walk to freedom,” underscoring discipline, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.

Beyond academic accomplishments, the senator commended his son’s character, kindness, and sense of service to humanity, urging him to remain loyal to his roots in Igbotako, Ondo State, and to uphold honesty and patriotism in service to Nigeria.

The message also conveyed appreciation from the entire family, including siblings, who joined in celebrating Oluwaseun’s achievements and wishing him many happy returns.

Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, a former presidential aspirant and serving senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, concluded the message by expressing optimism about the future, describing the milestone as both a family celebration and a testament to the value of education in nation-building.
