The African Brand Award is a yearly event that promotes African brands and honors prominent companies and their CEOs. The 2022 edition was held on March 31st, at the Sharraton Hotel Ikeja, Lagos, with the theme “Promoting the African Brand Strategically.” At the event, CEOs of various companies and organizations shared their experiences. 
 
 



One of the awardees, Mr. Aniekan Willies, MD/CEO, Mantra Protection Solution Limited, stated that MANTRA is a security agency that protects life and property in society and, likewise, deals with corporate affairs security and has been in existence for years. He added that MANTRA is a group of companies and is well known in Africa and the United Kingdom. 

 


Mrs. Bolanle Oduyale, an awardee and the MD/CEO of Credit Wise, a company that brings out the best goals of a woman in society. Credit Wise gives loans to women and also guides them on how to use them. Mrs. Bola Oduyale stated during the event that women don’t need major capital to start up a business, but a little capital and guidelines. This was while Credit Wise was created and has been doing great for years, with a lot of testimonies from women across Africa.

 
 

 
Another awardee is the MD/CEO of Market Trends International, Mr. Victor Ebhomenye. Market Trends International is a financial company that provides financial consulting and market guidance for businesses in Africa. Mr. Victor, who spoke during the award presentation, said Market Trends International has been for years and has built businesses for different companies, and he advised the up and coming business owners to seek a consultant for better growth in their business.

 

 


Mr. Rotimi George Tylor, MD/CEO of Gotham Construction Company Limited, an awardee who spoke during the event, stated that Gotham gives free training on how to become a real estate merchant and gives maximum instruction and guidelines in achieving their goals. He advised other construction companies to use quality materials in their work to avoid building collapses in society. Gotham is in real estate management, and they give maximum quality to their customers in Africa.

 

 

Emeka Duru, the MD/CEO of Goodgate Finance Limited, said Goodgate Finance is a reliable finance company that is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The company has been doing credibly well in the financial industry in Africa. We give access to loans worth six hundred million naira (600,000,000) to customers across Africa. We have more than 120,000 (one hundred and twenty thousand) customers globally that we are currently managing. Though we have competitors across Africa, we still meet up with the marketing in the financial industry. Mr. Emeka Duru added that being a CEO is not an easy task. It’s step by step. All you need is to be confident, focused, and determined. With this, you can go places in life.

 

 
Another awardee is Fru James Suh, MD/CEO of Empire Media Group in Cameroon. Empire Media Group of companies works with all available telecommunication network companies in Africa, be it MTN, GLO, AIRTEL, e.t.c. Our job is to manage them and fix their problems. We make things work for the good in the telecom industry. We have competitors in society, but we never let that shake us because we have focus and we make sure our best is done as a team.
