Troops Neutralise 2 Terrorists In Zamfara

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that two terrorists who were attempting to kidnap some citizens were neutralised by their forces, which had been stationed in Zamfara and Kastina States for counterterrorism operations.

Confirming the development in a tweet post on its official X account on Tuesday, the army said the soldiers also saved the casualties during the attack.

According to the statement, after terrorists attacked several farmers along Gidan Shaho Road in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara, the army responded to a distress call.

The terrorists were forced to flee from their victims as a result of the forces’ involvement.

Some of the patients with gunshot wounds were reportedly sent to a local hospital right away for emergency care, according to the post.

Troops also responded to an abduction incident that occurred in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara along Fangaltama-Mayanchi Road.

According to the tweet, the forces pursued and confronted the escaping fanatics, killing two of them as the rest ran away.

“In another joint clearance operation with the Katsina State Civilian Joint Task Force, security forces conducted a successful offensive, targeting suspected terrorists’ hideouts at Shawu, Dugun Fakwu, and Tafki Villages in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“Troops destroyed the enclaves and recovered a fabricated gun and other dangerous weapons in the operation.

“The swift and decisive actions of the troops demonstrate their unrelenting commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the affected communities,” the Nigerian Army tweeted.
