Wema Bank Launches “Evolution of Love” Campaign for Valentine’s Day

Wema Bank, Nigeria’s oldest indigenous bank and pioneer of Africa’s first fully digital bank, ALAT, has unveiled its 2026 Valentine’s campaign, “Evolution of Love, powered by Wema Bank”, celebrating all forms of love and how they evolve over time.
The campaign draws inspiration from the upgraded ALAT app’s “evolution” theme, aiming to decentralise romantic love and create space for every Wema Bank customer to participate. From self-love to friendship, romantic love to family bonds, the initiative targets four categories of participants: singles (self-love), friends (friendship), married couples, and couples getting married in February (romantic love).
Participants are required to create a Love Goal on the ALAT app and submit a 1-minute video on any social media platform sharing their love journey over the years. Gifts include cash prizes, spa vouchers, vacations, expense-paid getaways, and for one couple tying the knot in February, a special celebrity performance at their wedding courtesy of Wema Bank.
Commenting on the initiative, Wema Bank MD/CEO Moruf Oseni said:
“Love is central to the delivery of true customer-centric service, and as a bank that prides itself on being customer-centric, this is reflected in the thought, intentionality and commitment we put into all we do. This Valentine’s, we chose to acknowledge the beauty of every love journey, inviting all new and existing customers who have a story to share.”
Oseni emphasised that the campaign promotes self-love, friendship, family bonds, and romantic love, with the ultimate goal of ensuring every Wema Bank customer feels appreciated and celebrated this season.
Eligible participants must activate SAW, the Voice Banking virtual assistant on ALAT, create a personal or group “Love Goal”, fund it, and transact using their ALAT/Wema card between February 1 – February 10, 2026.
