The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has reeled out his achievements to mark 100 days in office, reaffirming his commitment to deepening the Fund’s operational impact across Lagos State, National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) reports.

Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, Executive Secretary/CEO of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), addressing security editors during a press briefing at the Fund’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, to mark his 100 days in office.
Dr. Ogunsan was appointed by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Speaking at a press briefing with selected security editors held at the LSSTF headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, Dr. Ogunsan noted that over the years, the Fund has played a strategic role in providing operational equipment, supporting infrastructure development, and facilitating capacity building for security agencies operating within the state.
He explained that the Fund mobilises resources from corporate organisations, public institutions, and well-meaning individuals to strengthen the security architecture of Lagos.
According to him, his immediate focus upon assumption of office was to strengthen the financial base of the Fund through strategic fundraising and stakeholder engagement.
“In my first 100 days in office, my immediate focus was on strengthening the financial base of the Fund through strategic fundraising and stakeholder engagement. We introduced new fundraising channels, including crowdfunding initiatives, while also intensifying engagement with private sector organisations, public institutions, and individuals who share our vision of a safer Lagos,” he said.
Dr. Ogunsan disclosed that one of the major highlights of the period was the successful organisation of a high-level fundraising breakfast meeting which brought together key public and private sector stakeholders, reinforcing the shared responsibility of security and boosting confidence in the Fund.
Within the period under review, he said the Fund revived retail donation channels to encourage broader public participation and introduced the LSSTF Monitoring Team to ensure proper tracking, accountability, and maintenance of assets provided to security agencies.
He further revealed that 80 operational and patrol vehicles were injected into the Lagos security space to strengthen rapid response and visibility, adding that more vehicles are underway.
Dr. Ogunsan also announced that the Fund secured a sole donor for the construction of a permanent office complex to enhance coordination, efficiency, and service delivery. Construction, he disclosed, has commenced and is expected to be completed by October this year.
He added that the Fund hosted a productive Annual Town Hall Meeting on Security, providing a platform for engagement among security agencies, government, and the public. Dedicated security officers were also recognised and honoured for their service.
In addition, he said the Fund secured vehicle donations from automobile manufacturers operating within Lagos and extended support to tertiary institutions across the state through the donation of security vehicles and equipment to improve campus safety.
Recognising the importance of human capacity development, Dr. Ogunsan stated that the Fund supported advocacy campaigns encouraging Lagos youths to join the Police and other security agencies, thereby contributing to manpower development and youth employment.
He noted that the Fund maintained frequent engagements with security agencies in Lagos to ensure alignment, responsiveness, and effective deployment of resources.
Importantly, he disclosed that the Fund embarked on statewide repairs and restoration of abandoned Armoured Personnel Carriers, returning them to operational use.
Looking ahead to the next 100 days, Dr. Ogunsan said the Fund will deepen its operational impact across key priority areas, including statewide training programmes for security agencies to equip officers with modern knowledge, tactical skills, and professional standards.
He revealed plans to procure additional security equipment and operational accessories to enhance swift and effective response to emerging threats.
The LSSTF boss further disclosed that the Fund is working towards signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Air Force and the Nigeria Police Airwing to support aerial surveillance across Lagos State, including the deployment of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones.
He also announced plans for statewide public enlightenment and sensitisation campaigns against crime and social vices, as well as collaboration with the Police and the Ministry of Basic Education to establish Safer School Patrol initiatives aimed at improving security around schools.
Dr. Ogunsan appealed for sustained financial and material support from Lagosians, stressing that broader public participation and ownership of security initiatives are critical to achieving the Fund’s objectives.
“In today’s rapidly evolving security environment, it has become even more important to strengthen partnerships, embrace innovation, and ensure that our security agencies are properly equipped and supported,” he said.
He further disclosed that the Fund is engaging stakeholders to partner on the renovation of dilapidated and damaged police stations to improve working conditions for officers and service delivery to the public.
Dr. Ogunsan concluded by expressing appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the LSSTF Board of Trustees, corporate partners, security agencies, and all organisations and individuals who have supported the Fund within the last 100 days.
“The Lagos State Security Trust Fund remains fully committed to transparency, accountability, innovation, and strong partnerships. We will continue to work closely with the Lagos State Government, security agencies, the private sector, and the good people of Lagos to build a safer, more secure, and more resilient state,” he stated.
