Group Endorses Obi, Umeh, Egoh and Others Ahead of 2023

The Igbo Political Voice (IPV) on Sunday endorsed the candidency of Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Sen. Victor Umeh the Labour Party’s Senatorial candidate for Anambra Central, Hon. Oghene Egoh People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Amuwo Odofin Lagos Federal Constituency and others ahead of the 2023 general election.

 

The endorsement, that was the highpoint of IPV’s summit on Sunday in Lagos, was to senesitise the public on the need to elect credible leaders that could work for the common good when elected, and to vote out incompetent leaders.

 

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) in Lagos reports that, IPV known for canvassing and conscitising the public on good governance and informed choice at the polls; presented to the public candidates across party lines worthy of people’s vote for the 2023 polls.

 

The event, doubled as the inauguration of the group’s E-Campaign Website Flag off to reach out to electorate for bloc votes for the candidates and to enlighten public against violence at the polls.

 

Speaking after his endorsement at the event Egoh, a two-time representative of the constituency said that, his performance at the green chamber has kept him relevant to the people.

 

“I run an open door policy through such communication channel members of my constituency reach me easily and make presentations on priority areas in the community that requires urgent attention for us to cater for.

 

“The ongoing reconstruction and expansion of the Old Ojo Road is a product of my interface with the people and stakeholders in the oil and gas that own tank farms in the area.

 

“Due to the insecurity situation on society we have instituted security intervention projects such as youth empowerment schemes, internal security outfits to ensure that insecurity is not part of the features in the place to encourage investors.

 

“I am looking forward to further enhance the welfare of the people through legislative instruments in the 10th assembly if given the opportunity to serve. Our people living across the lagoon desire good infrastructure in the area of a link bridge between them and those upland.

 

“Such infrastructure and the construction of a general hospital in the area Wili top our agenda in the next assembly to bring succor to the people,” he said.

 

The reps member frowned at election violence asked youths to desist from trouble during and after the election to make the process legitimate and human casualty free.

 

Speaking at the event, the Convenner of the group, Hon. Ernest Ikenazor, said that, no effort should be spared to ensure credible persons emerge victorious at the polls.

 

Ikenazor, described politics as a serious business and therefore should not be left in the hands of those that without credibility that could not be able to deliver the common good aspirations of the people.
