IPOB forbids APC, PDP, and others from holding rally in Abia State, Gives Reason
The banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has prohibited any form of political rally in Umuahia, Abia State’s capital.
The IPOB group specifically warned an All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Ikechi Emenike, against holding a planned political rally on Friday (today).
According to a statement issued by IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, on Thursday, the ban applies not only to Emenike and the APC, but to all other political parties planning to hold a political rally in the area.
Powerful explained the ban in a statement released, saying that politicians have failed to address or do anything about some people kidnapped by bandits in Uturu but want to have a jamboree while the victims remain in captivity.
He went on to say that they will not allow politicians to remain silent and do nothing about the constant attacks on the people of the area while they prepare for 2023 and act as if nothing is wrong.
“We want to advise Chief Ikechi Emenike and his APC people not to hold any political rally in Umuahia tomorrow, Friday May 20, 2022, while they remained silent and did nothing when Fulani bandits kidnapped passengers, including female students, along the Okigwe/Uturu road,” the statement said.
“We cannot allow Emenike and his APC companions to be dancing and singing at Chidiebere Park while our daughters remain captive.”
“It is hypocritical for the political elite to show no concern for the plight of our people, even though they claim to be concerned about their welfare.” It is wickedness for Emenike and his companions to remain silent and do nothing about the ongoing abductions of Igbo sons and daughters by Fulani herdsmen in Uturu and its environs. Ikechi Emenike should avoid Chidiebere Park, Umuahia tomorrow.
“We will not allow the APC and other political parties to continue holding rallies in our country while Fulani bandits operate with impunity.” Our people are being kidnapped and raped, and politicians are doing nothing to stop it.
All they care about is 2023. “Enough!”.
IPOB has warned Emenike and the APC not to dare the group by holding a political rally while the kidnapped victims remain in captivity.
“Fulani bandits are holding Igbo girls and demanding N10 million as ransom per person. Emenike and APC are dancing at a rally when the victims’ families are in a bad mood.” “He should not dare us.”
