Panti CID Celebrates 15 Officers After 35 Years of Distinguished Service

The State Criminal Investigation Department Panti Yaba on Friday honoured 15 senior officers who retired after 35 years of meritorious service, in a landmark ceremony that underscored institutional respect for dedication and sacrifice within the Force.
The event, themed “Retirement Celebration – Honouring Our Gallant Officers for Meritorious Service,” held at the New SCID Conference Hall, Panti, Yaba, under the Lagos State Police Command, drew top security officials, government representatives, captains of industry, families, and well-wishers.
Hosting the maiden recognition ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State CID, DCP Dayo Akinbisehin, psc, described the retirees as pillars of professionalism whose decades of investigative expertise contributed significantly to crime detection and public safety in Lagos State.
He commended the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, for approving the participation of the Police Band, noting that the gesture reflected the Command’s commitment to honouring excellence and long-standing service.
The 15 officers honoured include CSP Charles Akinrosoye; CSP Odion Julius; SP Julius Ohimai; DSP Audi Kigbu; DSP Uloko Obiabo; DSP Adetoye James; DSP Oderinde Gafar; DSP Nosa Uhumwangho; DSP Odedele Odesola; DSP Ekundayo Omage; DSP Cosmas Ezeofor; DSP Peter Nwangwu; DSP Oyedele Oyekunle; ASP Usman Sanni; and ASP Lawrence Ibisanni.
Addressing journalists, the retirees expressed gratitude to God for a safe and fulfilling career spanning three and a half decades, pledging continued support for community-based security initiatives.
Speaking separately, CSP Charles Akinrosoye (Rtd), former Officer-in-Charge, Legal, Lagos State Police Command, called for sustained investment in training, technology, and digital policing infrastructure to strengthen the Force’s response to emerging security threats.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Bayo Adefuye, described the honourees as “guardians of public trust” and urged them to deploy their wealth of experience in advancing community policing and civic engagement.
Gifts were presented to the retirees in recognition of their sacrifice and contributions to national development, while the ceremony climaxed in a colourful celebration marked by music, tributes, and camaraderie.
Observers described the maiden initiative as a significant step toward institutionalising a culture of honour and appreciation for long-serving officers within the Command.
