Power Learn Project, an impact organization that offers accessible and affordable tech training for youth across Africa, hosted a groundbreaking event in Nigeria with the theme “Fostering Collaboration for Tech Talent Development in Africa.” The event’s aim was to bring together industry stakeholders, organizations, and potential partners to explore opportunities for collaboration and create pathways for job opportunities for learners in Nigeria.

 

The event took place on May 31st in Lagos at 28 Awolowo Rd., Ikoyi, and served as a platform to showcase the achievements and impact of the Power Learn Project in empowering learners with essential tech skills. Through its training program, Power Learn Project has successfully equipped a significant number of learners in Nigeria with in-demand technology skills, opening doors to exciting career prospects.

 

 

Recognizing the importance of collaboration in fostering tech talent development, Power Learn Project is calling upon potential partners who share their vision and commitment to join forces. The event provided an opportunity for industry leaders, organizations, and stakeholders to explore potential partnership opportunities that will enable learners to access sustainable job opportunities and drive Africa’s tech ecosystem forward.

The event featured an engaging panel discussion, networking sessions, and presentations showcasing the success stories of learners who have benefited from Power Learn’s training program. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with key industry players, explore collaboration prospects, and contribute to the advancement of tech talent development in Nigeria and beyond.

 

Launched in April 2022 in Kenya, Power Learn Project (PLP) is a Pan African organization working to drive transformative change by empowering youth through quality, affordable, and decentralized software development and smart technology training and opportunities for work after that. PLP currently has a presence in over 5 African countries and an estimated 10,000 software developers in training, with its first cohort of 1000 graduating in December 2022. These developers are then provided with several pathways, ranging from upskilling to jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities.
